I can't wait either.....I especially can't wait for all the work ahead of me, bill from the yard for winter storage (not to mention the summer dock rental), dealing with ethanol issues (again), being pissed that my marina shuts off the water at 9pm, & let's not forget the jet skiers.:grumpy:

Now that I've griped, I really can't wait. :thrash::thrash::thrash::thrash::thrash::thrash::thrash:

I should be in by mid April. I wanna see what the Norwalk Show has to offer. Not that I'm in a rush for a new boat, but it's nice to see what's out there.

Jwisson....What new law is this?

A new state law taking effect requires all boaters on recreational watercraft less than 21 feet in length including motorboats, canoes, kayaks, rowboats and sailboats to wear a personal flotation device from November 1 to May 1 on New York waters.

The NYC Boat show was a big disappointment this year. Cant wait for spring run!!!

You're not kidding about the boat show. I haven't been there in a few years but I went to this one with a few buddies. Now I know why I haven't gone in so long:tired: A bunch of weekend worrier boats at astronomical prices. Other than the canyon runner guys, I didn't see any fishing tackle booths. Really a waste of time.

Orca get the auto inflatable types. Not so cumbersome like the regular PFD's. You know Park and the CG will be breaking ballz in the bay this year.

I know dude. I just hate wearing anything extra. But then again, the H2O is a little cold the time of year the law is going to be in effect, and if I were to end up in the water, I would want one on. I guess if I can wear a body harness in a tree stand, I can wear an inflatable PFD when on the boat.

Hopefully the new saltwater fishing licenses will atleast keep the heat off some things. The fluke season is just insane and I am very surprised they kept the flounder season open this year. Whats everyones favorite fish to catch?! Last year I started trolling in early spring and was catching 40+ inch stripers left and right, and huge blues too. I will be in around mid april.

The regs are out of control. There is a large organized protest going to happen on Feb 24th in DC. Besides the $hitty fluke and flounder regs, they have already reduced the blackfish by 60% and closed the season during the best fishing. They want to make the seabass season only 2 months long..............AND they want to protect to so called endangered dogfish (for those that don't know we are plagued by them)

FILLET AND RELEASE I SAY!!!! LOL J/K...Maybe ;)

Yes I totally forgot about the seabass season, that doesn't really affect me much because we dont get many in the sound but still when I do go for them they are great fish! My bait shop had a holding tank for blackfish and he had all sorts of permits and last year the DEC came and told him he had to shut it down. Maybe if all the lobster trappers would stop using their traps for blackfish instead of lobster we could get something done! Last years summer season was deffinetely not the greatest, in 2008 we had 15lb bluefish in mamaroneck harbor for months with the bunker closed up to the walls! That was INSANE! Last year the dolphins chased the bunker and blues all out... Hopefully this years blues will be a little better. Livelining porgies for blues and stripers off the points is the best! Last year I had something grab my chunk and run for 2 minutes non stop pulling all my line out and it spooled me! That was 40 lb test too!
