I am starting to work on planning a dive trip to the GBR/Coral Sea for the Fall of 2006.

I wanted find out if anyone is interested in making this long trip with me and my wife. We are going to book a 1 week trip on a liveaboard dive boat and then spend a week at a resort or something AZ'ish. What you do on the second week is up to you.

This trip is for intermediate to advanced divers only. Also, you have to be pretty gung ho to live on a boat for a week. This is not a cruise ship, the primary activity is diving (with a little sunbathing, eating, relaxing, drinking, eating, and then more diving). We may do the Mike Ball trip, but we're still not sure about that.

Note that this is an observation trip only. You cannot collect any livestock.

It is a very involved trip and fairly expensive. Please PM me if you are interested and I will send you updates as the plan develops.

Thanks,
Josh

I just came back from Australia, I spend a week in Cairns on the GBR, very nice place.
Dives are cheap from $65.00AU and up.
Everyone if you have the money should take a trip to the GBR.
Good luck with everything Josh.

The Mike Ball trip is supposed to be really good, Is this the one to the ribbon reefs and the cod hole? and the shark feeding? I have heard a lot about this trip, though i have yet to get myself up there to do it. If you have any questions about Australia / Queensland or diving up there i'd be happy to answer them if i can.

guys i love to dive. If you want the same reef like experience try the bay islands just south of the caymans. its real cheap to dive there and its very affordable. $12 a dive . THAT CHEAP. its off the cost of honduras and I had a whole hacienda for 65 a night. 1 american dollar is equivelent to 20 of theres. you get everything the caymans has to offer at half the pricew. but i am to say due to this setback i juest had i have to pass on the trip to the great barrier. great place love to dive there. DIve dont snorkel it is 10X's better. if you dont know. good luck on the island hopping the women there are very "pleasing" to americans. LOL.

Josh that trip sounds killer. I just got my advanced open water cert in thailand but I only stayed there... GBR is #1 on my hitlist now.
