Every year for valentines day i get my gf flowers.. They wilt they die and crumble.

This year i went a different route. i got her a 24 carat gold dipped 100 percent natural rose. I def know this one will not wilt or die and she will have it forever.

alistair, I second jHale's sentiments!!

We're going to go see our new grandson tonight, and thought of sending my daughter inlaw & son some flowers, but instead I went to our local Stop and Shop picked up a dozen long stem red roses with the fern & baby's breath 4 a whopping $25. Brought it home trimmed the stems put them in vase from 1(800)flowers, guess what they look amazing. 100% better then what I received.LOL Every single bud is absolutely perfect.

Way to go RareclownsNJ!


A little secret from us girls, we still love receiving the roses. We never tire of them!!! I've been getting them for 35yrs., and know that when they ever stop coming I will miss them terribly!

I still cant beleive on Valentines Day they charge a hundred bucks for something that is going to die. Leave them on the trees... I got her flowers too by the way

Im not a tree hugger but i feel the same way about alot of stuff that goes on in this hobby. Many reef clubs say they are doing so much to save the ocean but it ends up being we create more of frenzy.

I agree with the flowers wilting, and dying, that bums me out.
I wanted to send a plant, a flowering one, but that does not seem as romantic somehow.
Maybe an orchid next time.

Orchards are good get it at home depot they are fine there and sometimes we run there to get them if we need one fast.also all these people buying from the food stores is hurting my flower shop. They buy the flowers there walk down to our store and have the nerve toask us to make a bouquet out of the flowers they got at another store and want it wrapped in our paper. Such nerve some people hey Honestly i have gotten flowers there and they are fine. Just don't ask me to make it look all pretty and presentation like so you can look good to whom ever your giving it to

whoa that's pretty obnoxious to even think to do that.

I've been to a Lowes in Florida that had the best selection of orchids I had seen aside from the orchid show at the winter garden. And the prices were incredibly low.

That is pretty disgusting!!!!!!!!

I did my own presentation of the ones I got a the Stop & Shop. (Wish I had taken a pic of them, Seriously they looked 100% times better then the 1(800)Flower ones I got!) And they even looked better then the ones sent to my daughter inlaw from others in Philly, if I may say so myself.lol
I didn't have the means to go Flower Shop hunting. My son drove me to the Toy's R Us for a few more baby supplies, and to the S&S before he had to get to work cause I have a Cam Walker on my right foot. So no driving for the next few weeks.
Slipped on my front steps, broke the 5th. metatarsal
bone in the foot, and some pretty sever soft tissue damage to the ankle & knee.:redface:

Ah that must suck having a hurt footy like that. I stepped off a 2 inch high step and broke my ankle on a delivery a couple of years ago it was horrible. The worst thing ever was having shoulder surgery on my right and being righty try wiping your hiney with your opposite hand holy hard so feel better.

Thanks Wimby! It just sucks not being able to get around, plus worried about my tanks making it through this.
