Awilda he is a dad already, his son is in pic 2 of post 1....lol
She is only a wee baby, give her time! While training a puppy it is essential to walk them 15 minutes after the finish eating, drinking. Right after playing, and weaking up.
Don't know if your a dad or not, but remember how long it was before your little ones came out of diapers? Same with the puppy, but sooner!;)
Congratulations on the new addition, and especially for adopting her!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and if you haven't already get her some kong toys, anything else you will be wasting your money, and putting her in danger. They have very strong jaws as you should know.;) And make sure they are large so that she don't choke on them.

And DON'T clean up behind her with anything containing ammonia!!

jigajace, thats a nice looking pit! I see he has the smilly face, like my girl Yava! I love that look!
David, she really is a beauty! I also see you are leaving the rope toy laying around.....lol
Dace, being a dad to a cat is a totally different experience I have those too.
One of my cats would jump over the gates to play with my pities when they were babies, would even eat out of their bowls with them.;) My other cat wants nothing to do with them, she prefers to stay upstairs. And when she does come down she hangs out on top of the kitchen cabinets.

Scold when bad, Praise when good. Use only a few short commands at first. After 6 months enroll in a reputable canine obedience school. It will be worth it down the line. Keep leashes in good condition & inspect often. Use Natures Miracle to wipe up "accidents" in the house. Wait until the pup has had it's series of shots before allowing interaction with other dogs. Lots of canine viruses out there. Good luck. I have an Amstaff/Pit & love him to death. They are a great breed.

it looks like it has some staffshirer in it, with the narrower head, thats what my last one was an american staffshirer. liked it because they are a little smaller, and more agile. i use to take mine out back in the alley to go do it's job and as it got older it would just jump my 6' privacy fence and go to the alley to go to potty, loved it never had to clean poop up in the back yard

Update... Things are a lot smoother now ... or i'm just getting used to them. The pad gets lot more use.. Sit! requires no treats but alot of love. My new snag is walking outside all of a sudden she pauses but I account that to her being scared. As before and as always, Thanks Guys and Gals.

Oh yeah about the being scared thing, don't try to comfort her when she is scared. She may come to learn that the comforting is a positive reinforcement and will always be scared of the activity for as long as you comfort her.

In my opinion, I would have to disagree with consoling the pup when walking outside. This may lead to the pup when older looking to you for comfort when outside and may never actually break the habit of being scared outside. Its also one of those things that will make the dog bonkes when 4th of July comes rolling around. Its a little cruel because we all tend to be parents to our dogs, including myself, but the pup has to learn to be outside and over time the pup will learn not to be scared of traffic horns bikes etc. Other than that it sounds like your doing a great job being consistant. Good job and keep it up.
