Fishing on Long Island?

there are 2 piers. one pier is by the party boat section and the other pier is over looking the bridge to Fire Island. I think thats the description of the area. Sorry for the vague descripton. I'm waiting for the the weather to hit the 50's during the high peak hours so i can go fishing. Its fun and relaxing.

I was out fishing yesterday on a friends boat. We hit a couple of wrecks in NJ and ended up with 40 blacks to 9lbs (our legal limit) and 4 nice codfish. Many guys have been getting cod inshore lately. It's nice to see that fishery comeback a little.

The funny thing to me about catching blackfish is they are sneaky. Once hooked, they go on a hectic retreat to a ditch, a hole, anything they can hide out at and not get pulled out of the water. I've only caught one blackfish and it was with a crab cage. Lets see how February weather treats us.
