I meant they don't speak street names. And do not leave the mount on your windshield cause thieves will think the GPS is still in the car. I've learned the hard way. :(

Yo philly,

If you got Verizon just use their VZ NAV. You can either pay $9.99 a month or somthing like $3 for a 24 hour period.

I look at it like this:

You get the Nuvi, it'll cost you $326 after tax. At that rate you can use the cell phone nav for almost three years (32months x $9.99=320) and that's if you subscribe to it monthly, otherwise just pay the 3 bucks for the times that you need.

Also a nice feature the VZ nav has is a pedestrian mode & a bicycle mode, great for the city.

I personally prefer the mobile phone and GPS combo. The GPS works great almost identical to a seperate GPS handheld. You can't beat the price combo of a smartphone and GPS either. I have the HP iPAQ and travel all over the damn place and it always get me where I need to go. In fact, since it is part of my cell phone, I have had situations when I was with others (once a cab in Mass.) and was able to use it to get us to our destination.

Garmin Rocks!

The largest network plotter display in the Garmin marine line, the GPSMAP 5215 offers true ?big picture? navigation.

This chartplotter features the same menu-driven touchscreen found on its 5,000 series counterparts. Preloaded BlueChart g2 maps of the U.S. coast and a whopping 15" screen make navigation as easy as pointing your finger. By connecting to the Garmin Marine Network, you can add sonar, radar and weather. And for even more advanced features, you can add the optional BlueChart? g2 Vision card.

View Detailed Graphics and Video

The GPSMAP 5215 features highly-detailed BlueChart g2 marine cartography of the coastal United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and the Bahamas. For other areas, the 5215 has a worldwide basemap with high-quality satellite images in place of more traditional maps. With the SD card slot, you can add additional maps without having to connect to a computer.

The 5215?s huge XGA screen displays graphics with crisp, video-quality resolution. To keep tabs on your engine room or another area of your boat, you can also connect a live video feed with the 5215's video input/output options.

Add Extras with BlueChart g2 Vision

With optional BlueChart g2 Vision SD cards, you can add a whole new dimension of exceptional features to your chartplotter.

Choose to view 3D map information at "mariner's eye view" above the waterline or "fish eye view" below the water.

High-resolution satellite images and aerial photographs help you orient yourself in unfamiliar areas.

Auto Guidance technology searches through all relevant charts to create a route you can actually follow ? one that avoids obstacles, shallow water, buoys and other obstructions.
Connect to the Garmin Marine Network

The 5215 connects easily to the high-speed Garmin Marine Network, so you can interface with additional MFDs and add remote sensors. Once connected, you can share information between the 5215 and other chartplotters on your boat. You can also add high-powered radar, sonar, and XM satellite weather and radio to your system.

I have the Nuvi 350 as well...Works really well, and the size is great. Another model I have had in the past that is cheap and works well is the MIO. They are up and coming and are the reason Garmin and Magellan have lowered prices in the last year...I got my Garmin on Amazon...they offered $30 off if you got their credit card...They might still be offering the same deal.
