I got into one of this time share thing when I went to cancun couple of years ago. They just told me we'll have free breakfast and 1 hour tour in this new beautiful resort area. But it turned out 3+ hours hassled with their sales people. They started really nice and offered us top packaged. As soon as we denied it few different packages, their attitude changed and they started to harrassing you. I was so frustrated at the end, and my wife almost cried.

Not worth it if you not ready to deal with hard sales. This is beyon your imagination. Yes, we ended up with almost $100 worths of free tickets but I would rather spend my 3+ hours some where else. But some people do ended up with cash too.

Wow that's horrible... You can report that to someone. My resort would never get that deep into it, they just offer you cheaper condos..Like the one I got, a forclosure...And as for the 3+ hours that's just ridiculous....When I say 90min I mean 90min or less half of the time....They know that I wouldn't send people up there anymore...and trust me they won't make that mistake...I've sent actors and sports players up there...You think they would do me like that... Has anyone else had a bad experience????

Bad Experience!!! You bet. In Antigua we got conned into a 1 hour time share presentation that turned into 3 hours. We got a free vacation & $100pp off airfare to a hotel in Orlando. The hotel in Orlando was a timeshare which led to another presentation-not too much hard sell but a waste of our vacation time. The airfare had restrictions and the hotel had blackout dates. Very frustrating. The last thing I want to do on my vacation is go food shopping, cook and wash dishes etc. I go to all inclusive with "no worries mon" and enjoy my vacations. The time share presentations and all the baggage and inconveniences that go with them are not worth the wasted vacation time and aggravation. (IMO)

I also don't like to cook while in vacation and this year when I went to my timeshare in the Bahamas I never used the kitchen except for making frozen drinks. It's nice to have one and know that is there to use in case of a necessity or if you have small children.

Well I like to go to the mountains during ski season to take the snow mobiles out...And coming back to a warn meal and a dryer is the best...Home away from home.. And it's right next to one of the biggest ski places on the east coast...

I would go for it. If its free or even just cheap, jump on it. Just be ready for the salesperson to basically try and beat you up. If you can deal with a real hard nosed PIA then go for it. It is usuallly a short time that you need to give them. BUT DONT BUY!!!

I must stress that lower star resorts will have to try harder...They don't get the business they need or sell as many units as it takes to stay afloat in this growing community....

If anyone wants to try a nice vacation not to far away just let me know and I can arrange it for nothing but gas and food cost.... Not to mention a free Vegas,Bahamas cruise, or Orlando vacae just for taking a tour....

PS if they abuse you enough to make you feel like crying, or abuse you at all...... I'll give you my Denitrifier free...lol

I went to a time share presentation while in Vegas. They tried to do a hard sell and gave some serious attitude when I wouldnt buy. Got some great tickets and a voucher for 2 free meals at an expensive restaurant. Took 3 hours.

The time shares looked like they were furnished by the jetsons meet leave it to beaver judy cleaver style meets martha stewart...

You guys and gals should try a higher star resort...Me and my wife have taken so many tours it's not funny..Never went through all the stuf some people are talking about....I love getting something of value free...And only 1 time thetour was getting to be longer than expected,I told the lady "you guys said 90 I have other engadgements while on vacation speed this up and they gave up" BAM free show tixs and dinner for 2 nights....I never vacation without taking a timeshare tour...90min is not your whole vacation...


The key to this tour thing is to JUST SAY NO......

It's not as easy as it sounds. I also went to the really expensive time share place too, it was like 5 stars resort area. They located all over the world. I doubt you can get away within just 90 minutes. They use all the tricks in the book and they will throw at you none stop. I spoked to atleast 4 different sales person during that tour, each time they were making you feel extremely bad. I would say expect atleast 2 to 3 hours.

When they started the high sales pressure game we decided that we had enough and told them what we thought of their geriatric resort. That actually got us out of there much quicker.

That's all it is to most timeshare tours, just act like you don't like it...(ie up to your standards)....and they let you go..

I usually go for about 2 weeks when I go far,but I do mass every other week for about 3 days...

I just realized one of my old manager told me he and his wife go to several time share things every time they go to the vacation. Like Bob said, he takes 2 weeks on vacation, and he and his wife actually spend whole first day on several time share places. He gets cash for his vacation and all sorts of free tickets and dinner. But he is tough SOB. No one in the world can push him around. So he is an expert on this kind of stuffs.
