Wii pricing

I need some help. I know nothing about these things. My sons' birthday is approaching. We are considering getting him one. It is confusing shopping for this thing.

What is supposed to be included?
Are there different 'packages' you can buy?
Does the base package come with enough to operate it?
How much do they run?

Any help is appreciated.

Good luck trying to find one. Nintendo just set a warning that there still will be a shortage going into the 2007 holiday season. Base package will come with everything you need to play it, but stores (online and B&M) are selling them as packages with games and other extras.

Might want to keep an eye on deal forums like Slickdeals.net or fatwallet.com for postings on when the come into stock online somewhere. They sell out like hotcakes.

Normally its 249$..
but since it pretty much hasnt been available since it came out.. prices are still jacked up on ebay/craigslist...

if you do find one however it does come with enough to play with
controllers / WII Sports game ..

The base system is the same price in all stores, $250. You will need to buy 3 additional Wii controllers in order to play 4 players at once. It comes with Wii Sports.

It's pretty hard to find one at the store. If you do go to craigslist, you will be tons of people who are selling but you have to pay around $300 to $350 brand new system.

If you are planning to get the extra controller, wiimote cost $40 and nunchuk is $20 (I think). However, not every game need nunchuk. And if you get WiiPlay, $50, it comes with extra wiimote. But wiiplay really not worth much but definately worth $10 I guess.

Zelda game is pretty fun game. And Tiger wood is very good if you like golf game. However, I think the best game is the free game that came with Wii. WiiSports, especially Tennis is the BEST!!!

Get him a PS3 60 Gig went down in price..u get blu-ray player/game console/internet access/bluetooth...and i get to beat him at online games...:biggrin:

The Wii is dangerous...your elbow starts to hurt after playing Wii Sports and there is always a change of the controller flying into T.V.....it is cool for kids..but i've been hearing that they arent available....

get the remote control chargers this way you dont have to worry about the batteries. just a suggestion. and do not use it on a HDTV. to risky

I had both PS3 and Wii. Wii is fun for couple of weeks but other than Tennis game, Wiimote control is kind of frustrating to control. I played few games but I never liked the way it control the game. I am sure the programmers will implement better in the future game.

PS3, it was awsome. Especially recent firmware update, you can actually watch movie thru stream video. I used TVersity program on my laptop and stream all of my AVI files to my ps3 and watched all the downloaded movie. And I had Blue Ray Planet Earth on PS3, and it was even better than HD Discover channel version. It was british version and narrative was much better than american female voice. And the graphic on Blue Ray was amazing. However, PS3 currently has lack of games to play. But end of this Summer, sony will bring out tons of games for PS3 and it looks very good so far.

btw. right now you can get PS3 for $500. And I think circuitcity or some other place are offering extra controller and 5 movies. I think it's great bargain if you are looking for awsome entertainment unit for your HDTV.

I dont know if he mentioned but his son is older already so a Wii system might not be good for him. I'm sure he rather more rated "M" games then running around with Mario and looking silly swinging at the air with a fake nunchuck...:lol2: the Wii is definetly fun for the first couple of weeks after that :dead1:
