"Where is feedome of speech?"

Mr. zxcvJ123,
I am shocked that you don't know that freedom of speech is still there! It is right up there with the freedom to hire and fire whomever you want!! Bye-Bye Don.

Here's a thought:

The Governor wasn't wearing his seatbelt. (I'm pretty sure) Breaking a NJ law. There was a STATE POLICE Officer driving, that did not 'encourage' the Gov. to wear is belt. Why hasn't anyone brought up a stink about that? The head of the state can flagrantly violate laws and no-one says anything. Nice. Not that I think seatbelts should be mandatory but that's another conversation for another day.

Just for the record I hate imus however You have to admit that there is a double standard that one person can say one thing and its fine however another person says the same thing and he gets fired. If you take away the first amendment whats to say that they cant take away the second(in nyc its practally gone anyway)

By the way, Imus was not fired for what he said, but because his sponsors began dropping him one by one and the station tried to save face with them by offing him.

Bingo!!!!!

This has nothing to do with what Imus said or free speech, it has to do with business. CBS, and all radio stations, are in business to make money. If CBS though that Imus could have survive this, and get back his sponsors, they would have kept him. As for Imus, he can still say whatever he wants and if another radio station wants to hire him they can.

You know I was thinking about this on the way in to work this morning. None of the reports were mentioning anything about seatbelt until the afternoon drive. I was thinking to myself there was no way he was wearing his seatbelt. Also I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think an adult has to wear their seatbelts if they are in the backseat.

I think you maybe correct on that..
but he're is some evidence to get it to go into law.. i bet he does that..
and you think a governor would be smart enough to wear his seatbelt either in the front or back

"I am by far an Imus fan."

I think you left out a "negatively inclined" word in your earlier thread. You may want to edit it.

What word needs to be added or deleted? My quoted statement means I am not a fan. Please if you see something that needs to be corrected PM me or correct here. Thanks.

The daily news quoted someone who works with/for the governor. 'He doesn't usually wear his seatbelt'

I'd say fine his ass, put the points on his license, and deny his medical insurance for the wreck. Let him pay for all the surgery and PT he's going to need. Maybe he'll start wearing a seatbelt ALL the time.
