He's a great player that will be missed terribly when he leaves in the offseason. No sane Yankee fan would call him names or wish him gone. :smash:

lol... I watched it. It was great. I'm happy for him. Happy for the yanks too. But honestly... how much are they going to miss him? In post season play, scott brosus made more of an impact than he did.

I would say that most players had a bigger impact than him. IMO he's going to have a monster season and it will be very hard to let him go.

That you can mention A-Rod and Scott Brosius in the same breath shows a complete lack of baseball knowledge. Nothing personal, its just ridiculous. :lol2:

isn't it a bit strange that a guy has a bad year (.290 avg) after winning mvp and he is called a "bum"?

i am pretty happy for A-Rod as well, he hit the ground running this year. Hopefully after that walk off grand slam the crowd will ease up on him a bit. When they get in his head, it affects his game.

i think AROD has overcome a few things, and it took sometime for him to adjust, but again a bad season for arod is a good season for newer guys.arod is an instant hall of famer and even if he never gets a ring theres no stopping him from going to cooperstown..he has great numbers and will continue to put them up.he will always be in the shadow of derek jeter and there is no way around that, but your talking about great players on a great team.you have an all-star player in every position.NOTE:IF THE FANS CAN BOO JETER (WHICH THEY HAVE)THEY WILL BOO ANYONE!!!

He's gone after this year so you'd better enjoy him now. His agent is Scott Boras and there isn't a chance in hell he isn't going for a longer contract as a free agent.

well you know what alex could leave and we can end up winning a world series without him...we have one championships before, when alex was in seattle and he could not get his team pass the yankees despite putting up big numbers!alex has failed time and again even before he came to new york, this is nothing new.but being in new york magnifies ones talent.if arod decides to follow his greed agents advice you know what i would even blink twice or feel any regret, not like i felt when they let andy just slip away.not for nothing they have a very good third basemen in the minors that could really be something big in the years to come....

I remember A-Rod saying that he wanted to end his career with the Yankees...but hey you never know...i definetly agree with alot that folks has said last year he did only a little less than the previous year and we called it a bad year...lol...but this is new york we are A$$holes....we just expect so much more from him because of how good we know he is the pay that he is getting..the knicks win a game the city is going crazy..the next day they lose we call them the suckiest team in America thats how it is for every New York team I've been to many different sporting events and thats how we roll...the main problem that NYC has with AROD is clutch and playoff situations...just come through, dont pop-up, dont strike out looking, and please no more damn errors....if he keeps doing good he wont hear those boos anymore....he doesnt have that Yankee fan Respect yet..when he earns it he will be there with Jeter....and he definetly going to C-Town....

The problem is A-Rod, while putting up incredible numbers, is not David Ortiz who seems to get a big hit 50% of the time or more for the "hated" BoSox. And remember, George wanted Ortiz, it was Cashman that said "how many DH's can we have on one team?". The rest, as they say, is history. Of course the Yankees can win without A-Rod, but its a shame New York won't be able to appreciate one of the greatest ballplayers of all time because we want him to be Paul Bunyun, larger then life. I'm going to enjoy him every game this year including the one that's starting in 5 mins, cheers.

well in that note why bring on giambi? because he was slamming them home runs...ortiz is a slugger but i credit his hits due to the other most feared hitter manny.when manny got hurt, his numbers took a dip.enuff of them i dont think arod is going to leave new york if he doesnt perfom, basicly arod is going to try his hardest to get this team to the fall classics, then and only then will arod try and pump his ring finger and say that this is what im worth and i can bring championships.mark my words.no ring and there is not much leverage there,he'll stay in new york.

A-Rod is so gone it's not funny. He's going to leave the three years $75 million on the table and move on to another team where he'll sign a seven year $126-140 million deal ($18-$20 million/year).

Look at the money Soriano, JD Drew, Gary Matthews Jr., Zito and so on got last year, I think A-Rod is worth it.
