I dont think the problem is the unions or what you have or what the emloyer has to pay. It's a lot for every one..
I think its the governments job to give everyone health insurance not matter how much you make.
Many countries do this.. Everyone has coverage.. NO Problems.. no BS.

Just my 2 cents.. probably worth more like 1 cent :)

hey mes i am no political genius.what i know about comes through my union delagates my union magazines and my union broyhers.the only politics i want to learn are the politics that effect my family and i .and i am sure my union delagates will not lead me wrong in that situation.and the last presidential address on tv mr bushs top agenda was to give mexican workers a working card to come here and do jobs "americans do not want to do" which entails low paying and manual labor jobs.and the last time i looked in the mirror i was an american citizen .so just because i did not go to college and i wanted to follow in footsteps of granddad and dad ,does not mean i have to to worried in future because some politician gave my livelyhood away.open to rebutle mes been a long time since i was in a debate

We are well on our way to hijacking this thread, so this will be my last post on the matter. You may respond and have the last word. All I am saying, is that the position you are taking on the matter of illegal aliens is the position of the republican party and most specifically the conservative branch. You are correct in your interpertation of president bush's position taken during his last address (at least the one before tonight), but there has been a significant backlash from what is considered his base who completely disagree with him. If you where to look further into the matter, past the single source of information that you now consult, you would see that not a single major democratic activist/politician/ talking head, has publicly opposed the president on this issue. Rather, the activist/politicians/talking heads of the republican party are the ones that have taken him to task for this.

Don't confuse the opinons and actions of single idividual (i.e Bush), with the position of the party, as he does not represent his party on this issue.

The floor is yours.

I have watched and kept my mouth shut because the initial purpose of this thread was to bring people to a union/labor rally. Of which having been part of numerous rallies don't do squat to get your point accross just to piss off the general public that has to deal with you screwing up their normal routine. But now it isn't a rally thread it's a finger pointing thread as to what's wrong with this country.

Duke if you wanna call people names go to Reef Central. I am a republican, I voted for Bush 2 times, the republicans are the only ones who seem to do anything for cops because the democrats are so freakin liberal and worry about holding every9ones hand instead of running the gov't. Oh and Slick Willie the last DEMOCRAT President had osama in the cross hairs and told them not to take the shot. Go figure maybe politics is all useless as is the continuation of this thread.

Mods please close, the thread has offended a member, me!

Mike congrats on a fair contract.

From the site rules:

Politics: This is NOT a site for political conversation. We understand that there are common political issues that people would like to discuss on occasion (ex. Transit Strike, local employment issues, real estate and other legal issues). These topics are permitted in the Off Topic forum (The Nudibar). The moderators will shut down any conversation that goes off course or seems to getting “too heated”. If you want to talk about politics, there are several thousand other places devoted to this conversation. Use Google.

Mike please note the above quote does not apply to you bu o the others who brought other things into this conversation that were questionable.
