Tosiek, Nobody has contracts with chevy in NY state, Each manufacturer puts a type of car on the a list with the state and gives a bulk deal, kinda like fleet purchases.

Reef Here's in 2003 at the firehouse we bought a new ford expedition off the state purchasse list and a truck that retailes for 39,999 was bought for 26,000. Nice deal right?

DT it was the reg 6 cyl, not the hemi or the magnum so it's a normal car, it's just a comfortable sweet ride.

The Albany PD has a few with 20" rims! I kid you not, and people say Albany is ghetto!

Ok, first things first speed has nothing to do with it at all, We don't drive fast unless there is a need to drive fast. Most of the time we drive 10-15 mph. That's routine patrol speed. however when we need to move quickly we need to be able to do it cause when a NYer dials 911 they sometimes say "what took you so long?" (sometimes) Would you like me to have a hyundai or either an impala, crown vic or a charger if I was responding to your house for an emergency? Oh and did I say it was only a V6? That's right a regular normal everyday V6, the highway patrol guys have the hemi's not the precinct cops. They need the speed to catch thos guys on the highways, we don't need it street to street ave to ave we can catch people with an everyday simple V6 or the shoeleather express when the idiot's want to go that route! If you want to make a suggestion about something, call Police Headquarters and complain about these useless Elevated observation booths the city is buying that go through 20 gallons of gas in 4 hours and serve no purpose but to take up valueble parking and travel lanes on already conjested streets and avenues.

Second, Mustangs suck.
