Who is getting what?

I'm definately getting a Wii, and I'll also be busy with Call of Duty 3 on Xbox 360. No PS3, its just too much money and I don't think the hype is worth it. When it drops in price and there are decent games I might pick one up.

The PS3 is definately mine. But as usual it will most likely be after the holidays when the supply catches up. No biggie, i can wait.

Also since it's blue-ray it will double as my HD DVD player!

My brother plans on camping out in front of a store to get his PS3. Like Pedro said, it doubles as a high definition DVD, so the price isn't that out of line.

I'm still going to wait and see who wins the VHS-Betamax war. I know Microsoft is planning on going with HD DVD for their XBOX360. I would hate to have spent so much on a Blu-Ray only to have HD-DVD become the standard.

Planning to get both the PS3 and Wii.
PS3 obviously for promising games such as Metal Gear Solid and some other Sony exclusive franchises.

As for formats, I too wonder if blu-ray will hit it off in the war with Microsoft's HD-DVD.

PS3 could actually be considered, price wise, the cheapest blu-ray player.

blu ray is expensive right now, not cheap to make, which is one of the reasons for the low shipping figures of PS3... also, it may drive the cost of games up significantly

i don't think they will be making games on blu-ray disc. THat would just be a waste because the game would not fill the disc. THe blu-ray was made to hold HD materials.

Sony will easily take back the market once the ps3 comes out. Both the xbox360 and the ps3 are excellent. I am sticking with the ps3 because i have some games that i can still use. I hate buying new platforms and not being able to use what i had!

Nov 17 i believe right? There's no damn pre-order lists that i can think of. I know gamestop had the canada wait list.

I didn't have the chance to test out the Wii at the Digital Life Expo.
I was wondering how would a system like that fare for hardcore gamers?

lol with my gaming frustration, I'd probably end up ripping the two controller pieces every time.


Then again.... I can only imagine myself with PS3's tilt force.
Not really too fond of moving around when I'm relaxing in the lazy boy chair.:lol2:

Im getting a PS3 and wii, cause Im a hardcore gamer, but honestly xbox 360 is taking it.

getting the Wii - don't have enough time anymore to play those long a$$ games anymore, so Nintendo games do it for me. Plus i like the fact you will be able to play all the old games!

PS3 once the market settles down for them. As of now the first shipments of Ps3 is gonna be 10 per store. and they aren't changing it. As far as blue ray goes HD will win them over but its going to be HD and blue ray combined. Forgot who is making them but they are gonna be out after xmas.

PS3 is going for anywhere from 500-700$, and it blows xbox360 out of the water. blue ray is a huge plus, your gonna spend that much on a normal blue ray dvd player might as well get to play games on it also.

Blue ray was made for comp backup storage, never meant to be thrown out as an end all to the regular plastic cd's/dvd's as far as DVd quality goes. Dunno if you guys know that the blue ray discs are made of a paper composit. resist scratches and are safe to dispose, can cut them with scissors. And as far as everyone keeps telling me the HD DVD's aren't even worth the cash you spend on them (like 40$ for the dvd's, and you can't rent them yet). Would be nice to get blue ray/HDDVD combined systems though.

But who watches a movie more than once =0P. I watch it once and it goes into my shelf and sits there.

xbox rocks and the 360's hot.ill getting the nintendo for the kids.im a hardcore xbox fan so i cant see myself paying 600 and change for blu-ray.besides no console has online play like the xbox.coming soon " GEARS OF WAR." and HALO3 in march,ONLY ON XBOX.
