Hypoallergenic dog owners...help me decide,

Have you considered a Samoyed? My daughter is hyper allergic. Within 30 seconds of being near a dog her eyes turn red and she starts tearing up and sniffling.

We did some research and wanted something bigger than a toy. We were looking at a Basenji, but found a great breeder in Brookfield, CT. We had to wait five months but got a great puppy. We visited the breeder and put my daughter in the car with their stud dog and she didn't have her usual reaction. We tried again a few weeks later and took the dog home for the day. She passed the test and now everyone is living together without a problem. It's hard to comprehend that a long hair dog is hypoallergenic, but the double coat protects from the dander.

Whatever dog you decide on, I recommend either a breeder (locally) or adopting. Online breeders and stores are notorious for puppy mills.

Also, I love my havanese but the females are known to be less energetic than the males.

that's ok with me...lap dog suits me just fine

try not to judge all yorkies because of one bad egg you know of. dogs are as different as people, and their behavior is a product of the environment it's living with.

anyone has experience with a ahasa apso? we're still all over the place with the breeds. doing more reading.

we are in the process of adopting a bischon/maltese mixed. he's been with us for a week now. still on a trial basis. so far so good, my wife has been ok with him. if everything is ok by next week, then he's here to stay. i'll post pics next week.

he looks like a puppy but i was told (by the shelter people,C.L.A.W.S. that ) he's about 3 yrs old????
