i heard people mentioning fur vs hair.....do the hair need to be cut on a regular basis? what should i expect to spend on grooming? and where? petco, pet boutique, flowbee?

Typically fur is what people are allergic to. Shih Tzu's (and some others) have hair, hence the hypo-allergenic.

We groom our little buddy every 5-6 weeks. We've been doing it ourselves for about 8-9 years now. YouTube video's on how to groom any breed are a dime a dozen.

Yeah, a bull mastiff, that's it. ;)

I stand corrected (once again). Yes, obamacare ef'd a lot of us!!!! But the vernacular stands.....ef Obamacare

Tom pet insurance is great but some of them you have to shell out the money anyway then send in forms and get reimbursed. That defeated the whole purpose for me.

Look into care credit. It's a credit card that most vets take and if you pay it off in under6 months there's no interest. You can also use it at some regular doctors. I actually used mine to get Ruby spayed and I also used it here for 2 new pairs of eyeglasses.

yorkies are awesome. I just got one for my girlfriend and they have the biggest personality. iv always had large dogs and didn't want a small dog that was super hyper and yappy. we have since bought 2 other yorkies from the same breeder. I have read they are very hypoallergenic and I believe it. Bambam's hair feels like baby hair

We have a Goldendoodle. He has tight curly hair. It all depends how far down in generations.

My daughter has severe asthma with allergies. I am slightly allergic to dogs.

For the most part she does well with the dog. He gets shaved down every 4 months or so.

Most hypoallergenic breeds cost a lot. Goldendoodle is still viewed as a mixed breed and reasonably priced.

The glasses were for me. I was pointing out since you're half blind AND Asian you'd need all the help you can get so the card would have you covered in multiple areas. Especially since Obamacare.:tongue1:

dude....what make you think i'm asian? i got some italian/irish and scottish heritage....from the mc hemi clan.....lol.
if my wife gets one of the foo foo breed, i'm gonna bring it over and your girls are gonna be running away.....them little doggies are quite a little yapper.....lol
my friend's 90+lbs mastiff always run away from the little 10 lbs bischon next door....it's hilarious to watch.

a patient of mine has one and she has several medical conditions(the dog not the patient) and being so needy she can't leave her alone in the apartment for a couple of hours with out coming home to a wreck....as much a a 7 pounder could wreak. to be fair, she was probably spoiled/untrained since she was a puppy.

thanks for the input but we're not looking for one that big. a small to medium ish dog that my wife could pick up without slipping a disc is more suitable.

no one here has a bischon or a maltese?
