Actully, the mining company estimates it will be closer to 2012 and it will be more expensive to mine cause it's 4 miles below the surface of the ocean - also, it's only about 1% of what we get from the Saudi's and ME countries. :irked:

i dont agree. the oil found in the gulf will get to the pumps 4-5 yrs from now.

btw the lower gas prices go the more people are gonna consume. the US needs to look into alternative energy sources.

We are not running out of oil anytime soon. These are just liquid based oil. Oil can be mined and filtered out from the soil in land. Obviously that would cost more to refine... But since oil prices are higher and higher, refining the dryer type will become more attractive.

And if you haven't notice, I think it was last quarter that all the big petro companies report record high profit?

They just like to make people think that we are running out of petro very soon, to justify the higher cost we are used to paying now.


Anyway, the cheapest gas in the Bay Ridge area in Brooklyn is the Exxon next to Bay Ridge Toyota I think.
