Plus, analysts sense an impending doom on Sony with their pricing structure. They want to make Blu Ray the norm and the $500 package doesnt even have HDMI to fully support 1080p.

By the way, gamertag is manhattanreefer, currently playing:
Prey
I dont know about this one, since sony is releasing two versions of PS3 on launch date (which as of now is Nov 17)...

Version 1 is the hyped down version with no mem card slots, 20gb HD versus the 60gb and maybe even no blu ray but only HD drive instead

Version 2 is the beefed up high end version with everything you've heard and more with from what i heard HDMI to support 1080p (which is fairly new in TV's now since most TV's on the market only support 1080i which is different) and from what the local best buys and ciruit citys say wont be the best for blu-ray tech when we all switch over...

My opinion is if i land a 360 as a gift or low end deal somehow will take it and run because i have seen it in action and yes it is a very good system, lots of fun and makes my PS2 look boring now a days, but if not and PS3 comes out in Nov i think i will wait and see how it works out and hopefully by than the price tag will have dropped significantly....But either way once you get one of the systems youve got it for the long haul so i guess the choice will be a wise one...:birthday:

first and for most "you get what you pay for".at $500 your not getting everything,at 400 and some change you get the premium 360 comes with everything.come on the price for that console is imo crazy.my expierence with microsoft has been great, sure the playstation has been around longer, but how could you just drop a crazy price tag of $600 and keep your fan base and attract oters.so far i have seen die hard ps fanboys jump on the 360.come on ask your self you work hard everyday, pay bills and all that and your son says dad can i get the ps3? wow its kinda hard to part with that amount of cash for a console.i mean hay you buy it for your enjoyment.imo you'll get plenty of that with the 360.and there is no way in hell that sony will be able to match xboxlive ever.

Will the PlayStation 3 output 16:9 or HD video?
Yes. In fact, the standard resolution for the system is 1080p. Yes, as in 1920x1080 progressive, not interlaced. 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i are, of course, also supported.

I dunno if you were referring to this or not ...but here it is...I did however speculate on the lesser of the two versions since they havent released officially by sony whats included and whats not but i should have said the smaller version comes with a 20gb hard drive but still def not gonna have all the bells and whistles of the 60gb version.

i just got Madden and let me tell you the game is sick. PS3 is taking to long to come out and X-Box is just as good. Besides with the New DVDs that Sony is trying out could turn out to be a bust. Look at Game Cub that those Disks were the next thing and what happen. Not werth 100 a game I dont think.
