@albano you probably notice that one fish is 2x longer than the other...

Is it possible that the fish can survive under these conditions? I don't see any fllters and must imagine that nitrates/phospates are through the roof..

Can someone come up with a plausible explanation? I'm curious.

I did happen to rescue 2 - 1' pleco and 1 - 11" oscar from a 29g tank. Previous owner of them said when he did water changes he let them swim in his tub.... ROFL!!!!!

Pacu will still grow even if the tanks they are in are small. They do not subject themselves to any deformities because of size constraint.

Fish don't know they're in a tank and will continue to grow. I'm sure the reason they say captive bred fish don't grow as big as wild is due to their bad genetics from overbreeding.

I'm surprised they didn't break the glass as they are easily startled...

I wonder if that's a fake (photoshopped) picture or possibly a temporary holding tank. It looks too clean to be a long-term home. Not to mention the size... The dude must be doing several, 100% water changes per week.

I was in a house doing a delivery a few mos back and the homeowner had a similar fish. It was a 2' pacu in a 4' tank with a 1' 6" pleco. Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. They were trying to re home it but had no luck. They tried LI Aquarium and a few others. They can survive in those conditions, just not happily.
