Blah ever have one of those years where it is an uphill battle to get things going right?
Last Thursday my brother's dog Scrappy was acting weird to the point that he was lethargic and not himself. Well he ended up having an accident in the house (has had one in over 7 years!) and we figured maybe he ate something that didn't agree with him.
The next day my brother went to walk him and he went out and went, but then immediately layed down in it.
My brother rushed him to the vet as it was apparent something was wrong. At the vet they did a few tests, but were uncertain what was the cause of his illness. After performing blood work, x-rays, and an ultra sound it was determined that one of his intestines was twisted and the other had ruptured.
The vet was able to perform surgery on him to remove the ruptured intestine and untwist his intestine. If only it ended there. Scrappy also had lowered protein values in his liver, which they think may be cancer. At this point they stiched Scrappy up and things did not like look great for him. This was Friday, as of today he is doing slightly better, but still at the vet. Scrappy began to eat today and walk some, but the road to recovery will be long and hard. We are hopefull that he will be home the end of the week.
Now to figure out how to cover the bill, between the emergency surgery plus vet stay for the past week it is in the thousands!!!!
Sorry for ranting, just one of those weeks where everything sucks and just exhausted mentally.
Everyone's prayers are appreciated!
Here he is now:
