For one, I love how some of the people talking about this thought he went to the Suns. If you want to be taken seriously, please get the info right.

Two, if the Knicks signed Lin's offer sheet, they could not trade him for a year, unless he approved the trade.

Hey this thread started before the deadline. He officially became a part of the suns 12am Wednesday. Try getting your info right so you can be taken seriously!. The third year is when NYk pay luxury taxes. So it wouldn't hurt the knicks if they kept them for 1.5 seasons. They would have made a huge profit on merchandise alone.

u must not be a knicks fan if u said felton is garbage. amare and felton clicked before that melo deal what were u watching? everyone talks about how they shouldve matched and blah blah blah but if u had to pay $35mil in luxury tax would u? easy for u to say yeah cus u dont have the money but that aint pocket change. plus the salary cap hit wouldve been crazy. alone with just melo amare and lin wouldve been upwards to $45mil i think and thats just 3 players oh and i forgot chandler too. nah man houston can have Lin. if any of you yankee fans remember and im going way back Kevin Maas would u have given him $15mil a year after his little tour with the yankees the first time he came up? what happened to him? get outta here SAYONARA Lin

BEFORE the Melo deal. I highly doubt he will be capable to do the same with Melo and Chandler. Hopefully I am wrong!

Bro he has melo on the wing now and a big center now too what are u talking about? he will be better than before. do u even know basketball? knicks had no melo or center when he was with the knicks.

I may not know basketball as much as you claim you do however I can make a valid implication based off of the statistics and numbers put up by both athletes.

Felton has been in the nba for almost 7 years and he probably had tops two good seasons where he was a solid competitor. 2009-10 Bobcats and the first half of the 2010-11 season with NY. otherwise he has pretty much been below average.

his win shares per 48 minutes falls below the league average of .100, and his career average in that area is .067. last season .042 probably one of the lowest of his career.

Felton's last season he averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 assists per game and hit just 40 percent of his shots. For the games Lin started, he avg 18 points prob 45-46% FG.

what just bc he is going to be a part of the ny again he will turn out to be how he played back in 2010?

And ur judging an 8yr vet over a guy who played 25gms? U kidding me??? Lin may or may not be a good player. I think he caught lots of people off guard. Scouts will build a report around him and he will have to adjust to what teams will throw at him. Lebron even said it they had a good scouting report on how to play him and he didn't do crap against the heat. Lin is NOT worth that contract based on 25gms and I don't blame Dolan for not matching. Easy for everyone to say they'd throw that money at him cus they don't have it. Then when u do he turns out to be a bust then u get reamed for being an idiot and giving him that money off only 25gms. He's so into god but what he did to the Knicks was exactly something judas would've done. Lebron, Ray Allen, Bosh, Wade they all took less $ to win this fool left for the $ cus I know for a fact with the team the rockets have now will NEVER win. So would u want $25m or a ring? He obviously wanted the $. I see him being a bust in Houston watch I'm gonna lmfao at everyone.

It was a win-win situation for the Knicks from a financial standpoint.

Lin was like gold, the stock prices went up to it's high of $39, television ratings was up, merchandising sales were up... It would have opened up more deals overseas with endorsements and such.

I don't see how it would have been too expensive to retain...

They could have easily recouped the money, the stock value gaining $100 million total value would be have been reason enough to keep him now all that is lost when he left.

The Knicks are still not championship contender by any means.

ur missing the point. Lis is NOT worth what Houston gave him as a player. forget what hes worth to the garden. the fans want to see wins not the stock price of msg go up. Lin to me i still believe was a one hit wonder.
