I've been thinking about buying D3 but I am told it is far from an MMORPG which might be a good thing because my days of Evercrack, WOW, EQ2, and Rift are long gone. I just can't sit behind the computer for 6 hours waiting for a spawn so I can complete my epic staff. Is D3 all about farming and camping too?

Nah, it's no where near an MMO. It's a button mashing action RPG at best. I've been down the road of MMOs starting with UO and the mountain of time sinks that came after it... with D3, you can login and smack things around for 10 minutes and logout; no strings attached. However, don't expect the spec'ing like you would in an MMO. Skill trees are limited, if you don't like your new skill, just change it. No need to camp for spawns, your game is yours, there isn't a massive world like WoW, that's constantly going on with or without you. It does have an AH like WoW, so that's the only thing that's constantly in motion while you're not around.

I have extra guests pass for D3. PM if you want to try it w/o purchasing. You're limited to ACT I of gameplay, and some features are turned off. But it should be enough to see if it'll hold your interest.

How's everyone progressing? I'm "lack of gear" stuck in Inferno Act 2. Farming up to save for L63 gear... and it's boring as hell.

I'm assuming Barbarian? Sucks we're so gear dependent... my wife just buys everything Dex/Chance to Crit and her DPS is at a paltry (considered paltry in the Demon Hunter circle) 55Kdps.

19k dps (dual weilding) and I finally got my lowest resist up to about 240 (44% reduction) and I still get steamrolled.

no I am a wizard unfortunately, I can't afford better weapons than what I have now, 20000k weapon would be nice to have, too bad I don't have the IGG. I am now slowly saving up, changing to MF/GF gear and farm some more.

dang you guys have been leveling up. I had to take a week break, cause my should was killing me. :/ too much mousing.
I'm only at lvl 38 on my demon hunter. I tried to jump into a lvl46 game got my b*tt kick fast in nightmare level. Still working on it.

Keep going on the resists, Jared. I'm at 800-900 on all resist with Warcry w/ Impunity and I can finally tank in A2. But Elite packs just plows me down... I'm only at 30-32k health, but have 36% of blocking 3700-4700dmg.

Wizzy? Forget about defensive, just concentrate on pure damage. You'll never tank, just use Diamond Skin as an escape. I was able to pack my Wizzy with about 25kDPS by spending about 50k at the AH; had about 12k of health though :lol:

I tried that, pure dps build and no d, but I pull too much hate, freaking pack aways run around tank and chase after me. Also freaking tele and bind, Diamond skin is only good for 6 seconds, cooldown 6 seconds, but it only takes 1 second to kill me lol.

Haha...I've thought about that, but it's VERY apparent when a Barbarian is under performing, unlike a range damage dealer -- "I'll just stand back here and throw cottonballs at the mobs..." No, if we're squishy, it's seen right off the bat... like the other night, I jumped into a public game with another Barbarian, and he was axe throwing from the back :screama:

As long as I get more set pieces they can know I'm squishy all they want. I'm ok with that (especially if they sell on the currency AH lol).
