People don't really understand that beats headphones aren't even all that great. They are like any other headphone set. Ive tried the studio edition, and was really disappointed. For the money you spend on beats you can get a pair of Bose headphones- best quality IMO. The MIE2i and QC-15s are amazing.

i do agree about the beats headphones. bose headphones are great but my preference leans more towards sennheiser on headphones and klipsch on speakers.
i find there are too many variance in personal preferences when it comes to headphones and speakers. you just have to try them yourself. i love the klipsch in the family room but bang & olufsen in the bedroom.

Apple is certainly a successful company. but have you seen the series of articles in the NY Times lately, about how they have outsourced more jobs to China, per dollar earned, than almost any other company. And, they do business with companies that have ongoing records of worker strife, strikes, factory fires, unsafe and unsanitary conditions, workers living in overcrowded dorms, seven day work weeks...And when Obama asked Jobs how we can bring these jobs back to America, Jobs basically said it can't be done.

I bought an ipad recently, and it is a terrific device... I ordered it online direct from Apple and I was "shocked" that they kept me informed about every step of the process in manufacturing and shipping, until MY ipad arrived at My door. If I were Apple, I would have told my customer how it was being shipped from a warehouse in Newark.

Why in hell would they give me the impression that my ipad was being specially made for ME, and tracking every step of the process....from China...?

Not that I am a bleeding heart liberal, but my purchase experience and the articles in the Times have lowered my opinion of apple as one of the great companies.

I was just reading through the thread to see if anyone was going to mention the Times article of if I would have to search it up and post it.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/26/b...r-workers-in-china.html?scp=9&sq=APPLE&st=cse

I know many other companies (from tech to clothing and shoe sales) have similar practices but most people i know that love Apple are folks that have 'clean politiks' in that they are very socially minded and tend to care about injustices/inequality, etc.

On that side, it's important to note that Apple is not a clean business. It may be great for profits, fast product line, etc but...it comes at a high cost to human quality of life.

Yeah, I hear that Dre Beats is a great engineer. He's the one that solved the cooling issue on the quad cores, right? Or was he the guy that showed up and got paid a fortune to do some commercial for HP? It's so easy to get them mixed up.

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

And to the OP, what exactly are you basing your opinions on here? You say customer service, etc... but with companies/brands like Lacoste... really? You (over)paid $90 for a t-shirt that cost them $1 to make, and somehow that makes them a great brand? Did the t-shirt fall apart on you and they showed spectacular customer service? I mean, I'm not against the Alligator per se, but I'm confused.

Yes, that is true and there are hundreds of companies like that. That is why I always try to shop for clothes and shoes from companies that make them for special purposes (hiking, skiing, running) cause I believe they at least are designed with care and last longer then clothes made by companies who care only about fashion trend. And I will never pay $80 for a regular cotton t-shirt, period.

These are just my personal favorites that I mentioned above. Lacoste happens to be one of those favorites in the clothing category.

The Bose IE2 ear buds are $90 and godly. Ive never heard such amazing bass from ear buds. Highly recommended.
