Actually stats do lie. You see it all the time in sports, teams putting up big numbers only to lose because of not getting a timely hit or turning the ball over. The same with Compubox, it don't show clean shots verse glancing shots, and total shots can be misleading too, one boxer may have a lot of punches in a one or two rounds. Clean Hard punches are what matter. Also, if you do go by stats, then Marquez should have won the first two fights, as I think he landed more punches in both of those fights.
Also, if you go by who is more aggressive, or lands the harder shots, then someone that is a counter puncher, or a boxer, will never win a fight. Judges will give rounds to the more aggressive fight all the time, even though he'll be counter and tag, and a lot of his punches will either be missed or not direct hits.
