Depends if split-tunneling is enabled. If it is, your Internet traffic will go out "your" external facing interface and not through the VPN connection; thus exposing your IP.
I didnt know you did networking.
Wid is right. If you want to do some crazy stuff, use a proxy.
Who are "they"? Are you operating or connecting to a vpn server?hey guys.. just wondering.. if i'm using a vpn server.. can they get my real ip or ISP in any way?
Split tunnelling reveals routes to your vpn connected network to the internet, not ip address.Depends if split-tunneling is enabled. If it is, your Internet traffic will go out "your" external facing interface and not through the VPN connection; thus exposing your IP.

This is what happens when browsing the internet normally so split tunneling does not increase that risk. When he connects to a vpn server he gets access to routing information (to the vpn connected network) which is then advertised on his pc. Split tunneling allows those advertised routes to inside the vpn network to be available if his pc becomes compromised while browsing the internet (via his ISP). The knowledge of those routes could allow a hacker to gain access to the secured (vpn) network. Of course, that risk is removed if he browses the internet via the vpn....If his Internet traffic is going out his own gateway as opposed to the VPN's endpoint, his gateway's IP (external facing) will be the source address.
:scratchch So your saying that if i wanted to stalk my ex i should use vpn... lmao
I thought our community was about sharing lol! There are other ways even better... But I will not let that out..

Keep in mind that no matter what is available to the general public the gov't agencies are always 10 steps ahead of you.
What you think you can mask from some can't masked for others
