well since ive been home ive been making alot of meals and i figured i would share my favorite one with you guys.Hopefully i can get some from you.i came up with this one while trying out new gravys
3 or 4 pound roast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 cup of butter
4 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
2 cups water
1 bunch of grren onions
1 teapoon garlic powde1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon of italoan dressing
what i do is sprinkle flour on the roast and put it in the oven at 500 degrees to sear it for 20 minutes.i use the pop up raost because i like my roast medium rare.i take it out and put the roast in a oven bag and add all the ingrdients.i lower the oven down to 325 opening the oven only to mix the gravy onto the roast.it uually takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours for roast to be ready.share some of your recipes so i can learn new recipes and i dont shoot myself from being so bored :)

Easy there!! I like to BAKE!! What you got to say now?
lmao..I guess your wife did the same?
Jimmy is my boy for years I always bust his balls.
What does it say right here
<>< That's what I do.

Hell I prob cook better than both of you. :sgrin: Maybe we should have a MR cook off? Hey maybe we can keep swap costs down if everyone cooks and brings food? :scratchch You make the cupcakes Martha!

Wingo..try putting some egg whites..same concept as meatballs. Take it from an Italian.

I don't really have recipes though guys I'm more of a Mcguyver cooker. I'll take what you got in the fridge and cabinets and make magic. One time a buddy of mine and I just took everything we could find and made a sauce to put on steaks. We put crazy stuff in there.. alize',some wine, some jack, whatever different salad dressings were in the fridge some peanut butter just a mish mosh of so many things I don't even remember them all. Needless to say it was the best steak I ever had. LOL

I cook by looks.."ehh that looks like enough garlic" lol

I have a question about making a great hamburger, I am at the stage that the taste is great but I cannot get them into a pattie. It's like sloppy Joe right now. What's the best way to stick the ground beef together?

Mix the meat with 2 raw eggs for 1 pound of meat, 3 eggs for 2 pounds, if you have more add 1 egg for every extra pound. Mix it in good before you make the patties.

I am a pretty damn good cook. I do most of the cooking in the house!!

Egg whites in burgers????? A burger should not fall apart when u cook it. Make the patties but make the center a lil bit thinner than the outsides. The burger will swell in the middle chop meat should not be wet out of the package. Are you adding any liquids to it. Also make sure that your grill or pan is pretty hot to sear them off then turn down the heat to cook through

Once made cheesecake from scratch.

As I was putting together the ingredients, I misread the instructions and I added a whole extra cup of sugar.

My family was bouncing off the walls that night.

Grilled Flank Steak w/ sauteed onions

Flank Steak
2 TBS Grill Seasoning (Montreal's)
2-3 Cloves Garlic
Couple Splashes Hot Sauce (Frank's)
2/3 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 TBS Smoked Paprika
2 Splashes Red Wine Vinegar

Combine all above into a large gallon size zipolock bag and let marinate (the longer the better, but not overnight, say about 30-40 mins is good) In fridge. Then take out of fridge and leave in marinade and let warm up slightly on counter.

To Cook:
MUST COOK OUTSIDE ON GRILL!!!!
The Olive Oil is going to smoke like crazy!!

Cook 7 minutes on each side be careful when putting on grill out of bag you might get a flare up. You want the grill HOT!

After 7 minutes take out and LET REST covered lightly with aluminum foil for about 5 minutes! If you cut right off the grill all the juices will come out and it will get dry.

Flank steak is normally eaten medium rare. But cooking temp is up to you, the more you cook it the tougher it gets!

Sauteed Onions:
2 Vidalia Onions (can do more if you want, just realize that you need the appropriate size cooking pot) I cook my onions in a WOK.

Cut onions in half and then slice them about 1/4 inch slices.
Small amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and get HOT.
Put in the onions breaking them apart as you put them in.
Heavy Kosher Salt (about 1TBS)
Fresh Cracked Pepper
Keep heat on high and sautee

Make sure that you continue to mix the onions if you burn any it can actually destroy the whole batch.
Takes about 20-25 minutes to fully cook them.
After they have colored up a bit then turn the heat all the way down and cover, they will cook down alot!

I would Time it so that the onions are basically done before I cook the meat, I just take them off the heat and then heat them up when the meat is resting.

When I re-heat them I turn heat to high and uncover, it will help cook off some of the fluids that came out of the onions. They should melt in your mouth!

You can always add some garlic mashed potatoes or Baked potato on the side for a starch!

It's serious. I am craving for it now. I add some corn flour but it does not stick. Do I have to knead the doug?

I am going to the market now! Hope to see some definite answer by the time I come back :P

Dough??? are you making your own rolls??? LOL You should not put corn flour in meat.... Add some panko bread crumbs in you really want to, but should not have to.

You should not handle the meat more than you have to. Make a nice TIGHT pattie.

How are you cooking? Frying Pan? Grill?

Make sure that the pan is hot so that it sears the meat and will help hold it together.
