Never seen hail like this

I have been living in Long Island NY alll my civilian life and we just got a hail storm with rain like I have never seen here before. The hailstones were almost as large as baseballs and they even broke the rear window on my car and made some dents.

i just pick up 2 car from that storm for body work all the glass is broken and alot of big dent everywhere s**t is crazy

I heard thunder also but it was not easy to hear with all the trees coming down and glass breaking.

No, no pictures. It was raining so hard I don't think you would see anything.
It was about 93 degrees here today and my lawn is covered in ice, And broken glass

That's crazy :-/ it started to rain over here on the Bronx but nothing else then it stopped.
It seams like when storms come thru the tri state, they get worst when it tails to long island :-/ or white plain ..

Ya it was crazy out! I got stuck out on the golf course for awhile at work before i could make my way in. The hail destroyed our greens

nothing in fresh meadows

picked up my son at 430 in bayside and it looked like a tornado was forming, you could see the clouds circling, 3 miles away in fresh meadows never had anything but a little rain

Talking about tornadoes, stay away from me, please! My tomatoes are about to ripe and I never reinforced my house either. Just stay away!

The weather is getting crazier; I wonder how the winter is going to be this year.

How bout it! I too have lived here for 41 years and I've never seen a storm like that in my life. I have some pics and video, I didnt see dents in my car till today when driving , theyre small so only from that drivers angle did I see em, at least 20 small dents.

Can't do video till I get home. This is one shot showing the piles of ice. It was like a war zone.


I had some flooding on the side of my house so I had to get a pump going, the water was ice cold, my feet went numb and I had to dig out my rain boots from the garage! Nutty stuff, while the storm was overhead the temp dropped at least 15-20deg, it was cold out!

I also have about 15 dents in my car, the insurance company will fix that, and one of my solar panels is smashed.

That's just bizarre. Of all the panels on your roof just 1 got hit multiple times?

Just one out of the 22 got hit. And like you said, 3 times. My car was directly beneith that panel and it got quite a bit of damage so there must have been a small cluster of very large hailstones fall right there. Many of my neighbors did not fare as well as me.
I just noticed that all of my goldfish in my pond croaked so I had to drain the pond and clean it out. It must have been from all the ice in the pond. The surface was covered in large hailstones and it must have chilled the water instantly.
