Antivirus recommended

Well my PC got attacked by virus....I'm cleaning it up and re install window 7

I used mcafee but it do no good.

Any software program that does everything for me ?

I checked google and saw few best 2011

I want to hear from you all

I have never gotten a virus except from downloading from non legit sources or going to questionable websites.

I only install an AV software on my systems because I use my company's licenses otherwise I wouldn't worry about it unless I know I am doing the above.

If I were to pay for an AV, I'd use ESET NOD. Otherwise any free should be good enough and you should keep your PC updated with hotfixes often.

use malwarebytes along with avast once a week, just not at the same time, and you should be safe.

mcafee works great but you have to update it weekly , i have used all versions of it and i use the perpetual setting so it works and renews itself for the life of my pc or laptop. i use mcafee flawlessly but word of advice, some free ones are designed by hackers so pick carefully or just post your banking information on a free forum and save them the retrieving time lol.

Interesting. Is there an article backing this claim? I'm an AVG partner and would like to know who I'm dealing with if they're one of them.

Microsoft Security Essentials - It's free and works nicely and has a smaller memory footprint than Avast.
Malwarebytes Antimalware - Install hat with MSSE or Avast, run it once a month or so and it will ensure you stay virii free.
Avast is also however a good choice. I'm an IT Engineer and I personally use Microsoft Security Essentials.
