Opening a repair shop in north jersey

Hey guys, just a post to get the word out. Im opening a repair shop in Lyndhurst NJ, focusing in european vehicles, but we can work on anything. Ive been a tech for 10 years, Mercedes certified, BMW certified Master tech, and Porsche certified. Ive been an Audi owner for 10 years and have done all of my own repairs, including cylinder head rebuild after timing belt failure. Thanks man. Yea shop tank is a definite, might mount it in the wall in the waiting room since our office is right behind it and I can hide the plumbing and sump. Either that or a large nano/bio cube, which might be easier, and cleaner since itll have a hood and the waiting room is more cut off from the shop than the office. Theres so much dust in the air Im sure it would do some damage.

Hello everyone, I recently took my BMW M3 to John and I highly recommend him.. We finally found a good, knowledgeable mechanic. He explained (in detail) everything he was doing to the car. You can just tell he knows what's he's doing and is an expert at it. My car felt like brand new. He also fixed it in a timely manner. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable mechanic which are not easy to find for foreign cars. Thanks, John..

Yeah its very hard now to find good (techs), I dont now about you but i dont like when people call me a mechanic. My definition of a mechanic is a person that just changes parts,cant diagnose or fix a problem, a tech can do it all and . So yes were a dying breed thats hard to find .

Haha, thank you thank you. And yes I think tech is more "PC" as well haha. When I think mechanic, I think of the 2 guys in National Lampoons vacation when they jump the station wagon in the desert on their way to wally world hahaha.

cant agree with you more, ive been a Chrysler tech for 12 yrse and owned my own onsite repair and fleet managment company.. unfortunatly/fortunatly im just working for Chrysler/Jeep as an electrical communications tech.. the business went belly up after 5 yrs when i lost 2 large clients overnight bc they went belly up and i lost 75% of my business overnight the week before christmas..

my advice to you, getting started out, never say no, always find a way to get them in, and last but definitly not least save your cash flow for the slower seasons, bc when it rains it pours and when its not its the desert.
when you come into the slower times you saving will go down quick.. get involved in local BNI groups and network.. word of mouth is 100x better than a 2x3 box in a magazine or yellow pages noone reads.. get out there shake hands with other local businesses and show your face..

just some ideas w/o dumping alot of cash to get your name out..
