hey whats going on, quick questions for you, I have some squeaking noise in the rear of my car (2007 335i). The dealer told me its just rust built up on the parking brake. Its only there when accelerating from a dead stop until about 15-20mph then it goes away. It seems to be getting louder over time. Sounds almost like a wheel bearing going bad. Since you are a BMW tech, I figured I would ask you. The car is under warranty, just wanted to know if this is a common thing on these cars. Thanks in advance.

Its hard to tell without hearing it honestly, but there has been odd problems with squeals. I would say a wheel bearing is more of a drone, like an airplane, than a squeak. There was issues with the front sway bars squeaking on load transfer, the sway bar links have been updated since then, but thats also the front, not rear. Could be a dust shield/ backing plate dragging on the rotor, have yopu had your tires off for any reason? Sometimes theyll hit the backing plate when taking the wheels off. Youre kinda far away but Id listen to it if you want.

I'm a "Tech" but what they call me at work is a Senior Technical Engineer; gotta love those Information Techonology titles. I loved that scene, and they get raped for the tires and Chase is like I wonder what the Sheriff will think of what you're doing and whips out his Sheriff badge.

Yea I know what a blown wheel bearing sounds like. Its like a droning. Had a few go bad on my S4. Yea i don't think its that. No the tires haven't been touched recently. I'll see if that dust shield is hitting the rotor though. If that's not it Ill have the dealer look at it. Thanks

Wow man looks good! Bring it down well put it on the lift, providing its light enough haha. Major problem, check the rust where the 2 doors meet. Have your heard of the story when the guy goes over a bump and the car cracks in half from rust? That was a convertible though
