Well it sound like you were just in an intermediate stage. It is amazing how harsh people can get with out knowing your situation., hmm makes you wonder don't it.

Good to see you to tried the make the best of the gift without killing it, my applause to you . I hope the LFS does take the Box back for you.

Watch the Tang, as he gets just a bit bigger he will probably start becoming aggrestive to the tank so you might want to have larger place planned for him.

The Inverts and rest of the tank loosk pretty darn good. The light upgrade should really help things along.

Best of Luck and keep us updated and if you have questions we all gladly give our two cents worth.

Thanks for all the replies. I kind of assumed those were the types of remarks I would get.

I have been wanting to take the tang and the maroon out for a while now, but getting them out of there proved to be harder than first imagined. And the maroon will be devastated if I take him away from his beloved anenomi. However, that is my goal for this weekend. Suggestions....

I no doughty have been getting some horrible advice from the local fish store. The boxfish was a present and I had no choice but to put him in my tank or death was imminent. He has only been in there since Sunday and seems to be doing well. I will have to see if that store will take him back.

The lighting is still stock. The anenomi seems to be doing well though.
I am also planning on doing a lighting mod this weekend...doubling the 24watts to 2x24watts.

Thanks for the positive remarks DewrGleision

Hey man, I knew that if you had the taste and abilities to set up such a nifty looking cube to begin with, you MUST know what youre dealing with.

Yeah, sounds like your LFS is of the profiteering variety; dont worry though, as their income depends on you as much any other reefer in your town that shops there, so you can bullly them around to a certain extent! As long as you get the right service and the rigth product at the right price, right?

BTW, I wouldnt hold my breath about the store taking the Boxfish back; its obvious they dont want him, and want him gone at any expense (including the ultimate, the life of the animal). If you dont have a friend, neighbor, or family memeber with a larger and more adequately appointed tank for both the Boxfish and the BLue Hippo Tang, you might look into a quick, cheap emergency setup, like a 20-gallon or larger with a filter and heater, where you can move those two while you look for a home for them. A 29 would be even better if you can get a hold of one.

Yeah, I had more faith in your stock than the rest, but Im sure you know the tang and the Box are your immediate concerns, and I wouldnt panic about the maroon; clowns, in my experience, are slow growers. It will still be a good idea to swap out the maroon for maybe a smaller breed of clown (I think the smallest is Ocellaris, or maybe it was the Percula.... Hmmm...), or a smaller fish altogether. Gobies are a hot topic for nanos!

Yeah, that lighting mod will be welcome relief for what youve got in the tank already; dont panic though. And about the extra heat; theres a local legend here in the nano forum whos mastered the art of nano-cubing; maybe he'll make an appearance... Anyway, hed be able to tell you about heat issues, and if I might be so bold, his name is Hwarang! :)

Good luck man, and dont let people who speak in ignorance get ya down; the whole industry is the same way. Im right, everyone else is wrong; that seems to be the mentality of anyone involved in this hobby...

You have no idea... Man, it gets ugly as soon as someone learns enough to be dangerous or call themselves an expert. I dont know where that mark is, but Ill never measure the same way as some people, here and elsewhere.

im no expert, but to keep them as adults is a no no, as babies is ok, ive kept fish that can get way over a foot as babies in a 30, but temporary isnt always good, as you get attached to the little buggers and dont wanna let em go :?
