I just put a Current Dual Satellite 2x18W PC fixture on my 2.5. Mooooooore light!! 8) But with more light comes more heat. I need to install a fan.
  2. new tank question?

Can't go wrong with an Oceanic. Very well built tanks. I have the 30 cube and have been very happy with it. Buy the RR version if that's an option.
  3. Vermin or Not? Definitely need an ID!

    It's just so darn gross.
  4. Cleaning the tank

I used a credit card when I had an acrylic tank too. Works quite well.
  5. how much room do you leave around your frags to grow?

Same here, although that 6" gets filled in pretty darn quickly in my tank. I've got a couple of digi colonies growing into each other.
  6. Hermit Crab Replacement & Fish As Protein Skimmer

Mexican turbo snails mow down hair algae.
  7. Opinions on MH Ballast

My 2 year old Icecap has been acting flakey lately. It refused to fire the bulb. My husband took it apart last week and tested all the wires. One seemed to be showing no current but after some time, it was fine. Strange. He rewired and we retested it and it fired the bulb. Next day it wouldn't...

That's really cool Louey. Are you planning on keeping them all or selling them off as they get bigger?
  10. Metal Halide Bulb Brand Recomendations

The Phoenix 14K's are compareable to the XM 14K bulbs. Both have a nice crisp white/blue balance. I"ve been running the Phoenix over my 30 cube for about a year now. Great bulb.
  11. algae help

I used to clean my Fluval weekly and was amazed at how much funk got trapped in there. I'd say, ditch the CC in the eheim and do several large water...

  13. The end is coming....

Exactly why I logged in. I hadn't been here for a couple of weeks and was wondering about the finalists. Very exciting. I know who my favorties are. ;)
  14. 25g stocking

I'd stick with a pair of tomatoes in that size tank. They get to be pretty large. One of the largest clown speices, I believe, and as stated, also one of the more aggressive.
  15. Help

Unfortunately, in that size tank, the dottyback will bully and harrass anything you try to introduce. They are extremely territorial, even more so in smaller tanks. The Orchid is peaceful towards the clown for the exact reason you stated. He was introduced second, and the clown had already...
