I am not as experienced as a lot of the people on these boards but I will throw in my 2 cents.

Do Not get any damsels. Clowns seem to no be to territorial in my experience but I know have two Black and White striped(cant remember name) damsels and one Fiji Devil damsel and they mess with everything. They constantly pick at other fish and inverts that mess with them. And at least in my case there is no way to catch them. The two black and whites constantly bite my arm if it ever goes in the tank and they cornered one of my clowns in a corner of my tank for about 2 days before I finally saw the clown swimming somewhere else.

Hope that helps, but it is just my 2 cents

Oh boy. I would add ONLY your other clown and see what happens first. You got it right thinking you have to do clowns in groups... but it is 3 or more I think?? If you're trying to make a mating pair good luck. If you got the money it's worth a try I guess. Hopefully you won't go through a lot of trouble to do this and then one dies. That would suck. I started off with 3 clowns once I think. One died then the other two fought. You can try it for awhile but in the end you might end up with 3 or more or just do like the rest of us and have one.

Once you get that going there are a lot of kool small fish. Pick a "good" wrasse, 3-5 green chromis, royal gamma's are kool, purple dotyback, neon goby, etc. I've never had good luck with firefish or cardinals out here in Florida. Maybe they're better on the west coast? You can read more about a good wrasse and other fish online at liveaquaria.com marinedepotlive.com etc. And yea... don't F' with those "damn" damsels.

I'm not sure he's suggesting three clowns, but rather a couple of clowns with a banggai and royal gramma.

Still, I'd say be careful. Tomatoes can be aggressive to other fish and your tank isn't huge. Has the current clown established a distinct territory in the tank? If not, it may be easier to introduce other fish. I'd also be tempted to introduce the others before the second clown. If the first hasn't identified a clear territory yet, once you add the second, I assume they will, and in a small tank, that won't leave much room for the other fish.

Hopefully someone with some experience of tomatoes can chime in here.

I'd stick with a pair of tomatoes in that size tank. They get to be pretty large. One of the largest clown speices, I believe, and as stated, also one of the more aggressive.
