well if its a "bulging" or swollen stomach then it might be starving. if its healthy and eating well it should be filling out everywhere. pics would help.

umm yea baking soda straight up will lower the ph of the tank, check out the articles on advancedaquarist from randy holmes, you need to bake it to drive excess water and co2, and then thats what buffers ph a lot. the ph swing down from straight up baking soda will only lower ph a little, but...

thanks all o rstimeout if you notice the current pics have a background on :). Umm, if the mag fails or something happens, locline outlets come out of the water and a screw in plug is placed in the intake bulkhead. i was thinking ball valves, but this is simpler and not a pita.
