  1. My new tank setup...wanted your opinion

Sorry I didn't 'really' mean to claim this setup for my own. I was kinda being sarcastic. I do wish I had it. Anyhow...point to be made was what Jimbo was referring to...that it would appear that since the Japanese were more willing to front the cost of the equipment that they would be able...
  2. HAZY EYED DEAD FISH

I am ordering test kits as I type. Thank you for your valuable suggestions. I attempted to return my Ritteri Anemone to the store today but they just said that the anemone generally takes a bit of time to get accustomed to the tank and that not eating is normal. This was after I asked if they...
  3. Eheim Wet/Dry System Model 2227: Testimony requested

Has anyone used this product? Wondering what type of tank it can support and if it is better than the traditional bioball trickle wet dry's. Thanks in advance.
  4. HAZY EYED DEAD FISH

I had about 11 lbs of live rock in the tank before. Then I cured an addtl. 11 lbs for 2 weeks in a separate tank with 2 water changes per week. Then I gave the rocks a rinse and put them in the display tank. 7 PH...how do I raise this? My fish have survived for 6 months in this ph...

  6. Feeding Ritteri Anemone HELP!

That makes sense. I will try to return it to the LFS Friday or this weekend. Definitely not trying to kill off anything. Thx
  7. Feeding Ritteri Anemone HELP!

Ok...so I've been told that I am way below the suggested lighting level for a Ritteri at 165 watts of power compact. I can't seem to get this guy to hang onto the dried krill I am trying to feed him. Its not sticking...and rather the ritteri is pulling away to the touch of the shrimp. Any ideas?
  8. HAZY EYED DEAD FISH

My tank has been cyclyed for about 7 months now. Live rock was cured post purchase from LFS for 2 weeks. Rock to the sump was taken from the tank since it was one of the smaller pieces so it was already cured. Is it possible that my sump setup is completely garbage? Please let me know.
  9. HAZY EYED DEAD FISH

Sorry for not providing more info. Lighting is 3 CP 55W each 75G tank with WetDry, skimmer in sump Temp at 80, PH at 7 Maybe it was the fact that i converted my wet dry into like a refugium sump. I added sand to the sump area and threw a live rock in there. Maybe I am trying to...
  10. HAZY EYED DEAD FISH

Last weekend I introduced a Ritteri Anemone, 2 sebae clowns and 1 royal gramma to my 75 G tank housing 2 tomoto clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 powder tang, 1 coral beauty, and 1 domino damsel. Today I have 1 yellow tang, and 1 ritteri anemone still alive. Wondering if anyone can provide any...

  12. Ritteri Anemone location

I think my new ritteri is splitting too. It looks like it has 2 mouths and that is my first guess. Please advise if I am insane for thinking such. Will attach picture soon
  13. Ritteri Anemone location

Jav- What is your tank setup and environment like? I'm curious because I've read that Ritteri are extremely unlikely to survive over a year in aquariums...and would like to learn how you got yours to live. I just got one a few days ago and it is wilting away already. Please help! 8O

but because of setup quality I think it makes sense that rare and uniques are imported to Japan more often...
  15. My new tank setup...wanted your opinion

Guys - I am living in Japan now and this is the only setup I could come up with. I think this is why we get the better quality/rare fish and coral selections...
