  1. Two beautiful tangs

nice looking tangs! They look very fat and happy
  2. adjustable ball and socket tubes

Do these things come apart and or stack like legos? In other words can you take a 6 inch tube and pull it apart into 2 pieces or take 2 tubes and snap them together?
  3. aiptasia question

I recently had a serious outbreak that I fought for about 6-8 months. Had 2 pepps that didn't show any interest for several months. Bought a copper band butterfly that didn't show any interest for 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks he aquired a taste for the little buggers and cleaned out the entire...
  4. MY BTA is turning white!

One more pic. Notice the 2 on the left re well dug in, lots of bulbs. The 2 in the upper right are more exposed and elongated.
  5. MY BTA is turning white!

Here's a pic where you can see 2 of mine for reference. The actinics throw the color off a little. Some of mine don't have the bulbs as pronounced as others. Some people think it is related to feeding, but I think it is more related to how well the anemone can bury its foot. The ones that are...
  6. MY BTA is turning white!

White tips are normal, don't sweat it. Most of mine have a white ring around the "bulb" and some have all white bulbs. As long as the rest of the anemone has good color, situation normal.
  7. joes juice

Has anyone used this in a tank with other anemones? I have a bunch of BTA's I don't want to kill, along with a ton of small aptasia I DO want to kill.
  8. Aiptasia???

I wouldn't think they would lie dormant for very long in a well established reef tank.
  9. Aiptasia???

The ones in my tank grow pretty fast. I can't imagine a small one would hide for a long period of time before being seen. They also propagate like flippin rabbits. If you have one and it is hidden well so you can't see it, you would definetly know it in a few months at least by all the little...
  10. Aiptasia???

I didn't have any for years, never even saw one in person until I started a refuge and bought some macro algae at LFS. Now those little @#$%'s are everywhere.
  11. A Few New Pictures (Dial-Up Be Warned)

Livestock problems? sheez i wish I had your livestock problems. seriously though, very niiiice. That pic will go a long ways towards helping me convince my wife we need an in wall tank in our new house.
  12. shopping for lights

  :D   screw halides, we're going nuclear!
  13. Aquarium shops

cool, thread. Thanks for the tip on the new shop on Peace St. I didn't even know it was there. Fish World on Capital used to be the place to go, but IMO it has declined in the last year or so and I rarely find it worth the effort to drive all the way across town. Fish Pro's near the fair...
  14. The Anemone Thread/Anemone 101

JD, the way I move mine is to surround the one you want to move with small rocks. I just basically make a wall around the anemone, with a hole in the top. The anemone will crawl onto the smaller rocks to get out, then you just move the rock where you want it. I keep a few small pieces of rock in...
  15. The Anemone Thread/Anemone 101

nice pics Dizzy, that BTA has great color, looks very happy. I agree about the BTA's. I love them. I am considering moving all 20 of mine into a seperate species tank with maybe a LTA or Sebae if I can find a healthy one. I think the biggest factor is choosing a healthy one to begin with. I...
