Have you ever seen the footage where they where using a submersible to inject a cave with a TON of quin only got one little fish? They blasted the sh** out of that cave :(

Sure it was quinaldine? Normally they'd use Rotenone, since the fish wouldn't survive the trip to the surface anyways.

Although I'm not a big fan of using chemicals on fish, it's really the only way to collect specimens from a sub. The manipulator arms' dexterity isn't very good.

It's pretty pricy so I doubt many others use it. The US is the only one that issues permits for it. I don't know if other countries outright ban it or not.

I know people who've used it in other countries, so I assume there are a number of places where it's legal.

So if some foreign countries used chemicals to catch MO, it's bad and illegal. But if used in the US of A. It's acceptable and nothing wrong with. It's that what you are saying?

No, wasn't saying that at all. Just that it's used in a number of places, not passing judgment one way or the other.

Normally I follow your logic but here I just have to break away. You assume since they used it it must be legal? Special use permit? Commercial collectors operating a legit export operation?

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but they sure killed a whole lot of stuff....akin to shrimp by-catch...simply disgusting waste!!!

I believe I asked you that very question and you sidestepped by asking me.

Then would you consider clove oil caught as juiced?

You first oh hidden one :)

I've answered this very questions a thousand or so posts ago right here in this very forum. IMO no juice of any sort is needed and if used should be considered as such...juiced. Nets are all you need :)

BTW it's not your grammar I was correcting. Jesus walked on water, not over it. The term is "walk on water".

Anyone who in a forum like this won't identify themselves and their interest in the industry is nothing more than a troll anyways... I thought you were going to quit feeding the trolls.

God Gresham you remind me of Humpty-Dumpty. It wouldn'd suprise me if there was a resemblance too.

The use of all chemicals that can harm the fish, the reef and the critters that live thereon is absolutley wrong and should be stopped immediately.

The fact the US permits the use of its use may make it legal but it is wrong nonetheless. Just as the US Cuban embargo and the US invasion of Iraq may be legal but is wrong.
