What is this?!

:irked:There's this weird stringy mucousy stuff in my tank. I'm not sure what it's from. I have 2 hermits in it with 1 cleaner shrimp and 1 peppermint shrimp. I got the peppermint shrimp to clean up apstasia. I noticed one of my snail shells is empty as well.

Gross! Is there any way to get rid of them?!

You can crush them, but I wouldn't as they are good for the tank. Basically they are filtering all that out of the water and eating it.
