what is this and how do I get rid of it!

I went on vacation and had my neighbor feed my fish (explicit instructions - verbal & written) when I returned home I found he decided not to add any top-off water (a story for another day) and this lovely algae, now how do I get rid of this. My phosphates and all other params are good pls help

Get some hermits and snails to start.

Get your SG back to normal.

Run phosban or a phosphate sponge pad.

Do a water change to cut down on the nutrients.

The reason your tests show the paramaters are good, is that the hair Algea is using it before it gets into the water colom.

My advice it to manualy remove /vacume out all you can and do a huge water change 50% or more. after that do 10% water changes twice a week and continue to vacume out any algea. when things are good you can cut out the 2nd water change and take it from there.

sg back to 1.025, already running rowaphos and making new water. will do on the crabs, snails. also put a 'for sale' sign on the neighbor's lawn

are you sure of the 50% w.c.? my system's water volume is ab 150 gal. i have been doing 20 gal a week

i would get a phoban reactor and cut some of the light and do 20g water change every week with rodi also put a poly filter.

?Marc is right. I had the same problem, got a yellow tang and in 2 days everything clear. It has been fine since.
