hey everyone
quick question. I have this red bubbly algae like growth in one area of my tank and just curious anyone knows what that may be? It is rather interesting looking and I try to get a picture.

It is around the area one of my frags are?
i touched it and its like a layer of bubbles?

hmmmmmm

Thread moved to the "IDENTIFICATION" forum.

Sounds like Cyano or slime algae from the description, get some pics up if you can to be sure.

Yup it's cyano. How are your readings? Phosphates nitrates cal, alk, and mg in particular.

You can siphon or scoop it out. There are many ways to prevent it a simple way is to redirect a power head in that area to increase flow. You could try that after you remove it see if that works.

I find that I start to get cyano patches when one of those parameters if off even by a little.
