What is this

Hi, I’ve only had my first saltwater tank for about two months, and when I got my first coral, it also came along with what appeared to be a dead coral. Now something appears to be growing out of it but it’s still hard. Can someone tell me what this is?

Looks like a Vermetid snail

Vermetid snail: remove it, then jump on it with two feet, use a flamethrower, and finally put it in an acid bath. Just in case.

You can break the tube off, then put some putty or reef glue into the remainder of the tube to make sure it is dead.
