I plan on keeping this thread updated as I make progress setiing this thing up
A HUGE thanks to Pierce for building the stand and canopy for me. I still have to add the molding and false draws to the stand ;)

Tank,stand, and canopy

The stand sits very high (40"_ so the tank is at eye level) I do need a small step stool to reach in it though

Here's the layout for the entire setup:
1) 120gal (low iron glass 3 sides) center overflow
2) MR-2 Dual beckett skimmer driven by a pan world 55 pump
3) flow, 2x Tunze streams 6100's + milticontroller, and my return pump (GRI 520) plumbed to 2 penductors.
4) 2x150w heaters + fans over the sump hooked up to a medusa temerature controller to keep a stable and acceptable temp.
5) Acrylic sump with large micron bag bracket(thanks to Pat at Aquarium Solutions
)
6)Geo calcium reactor
7) lighting is 2x250w DE AB 10k's + 4xVHO actinics
8) Top off will be by a litermeter. I'm not sure if I will be using kalkwasser to top off yet. I'll have to wait and see how the PH, cal, and alk run to see if kalk is necessary.

I started the plumbing today. I had to get very creative to fit all the equipment under there ;) I'll post pics soon.

alright!!! Rich,

I've been waiting for this thread. Looks really nice. Pierce did great wood work. Keep the good work.
I am also thinking about getting a 120G. Let me see how it works done.

Looking good. Can't wait. The stand is pretty neat. How was the front made so it could be lifted up? What's keeping the whole canopy together while having the front lifted?

Thanks Guys

ctxmonitor, The front of the canopy and half of the top is one piece. It slides into the remaining piece of the canopy and gravity does the rest. its hard to tell from the pics but if you look at the right side of the second pic you can see how far back the top is cut.

Leon, the canopy doors are small compared to the 40" high stand
. Even so there is a false center between the doors which opens when the doors are opened.

Leon, I'll measure the canopy height and let you know. I was by your Home Depot today but I didnt have your phone # to call you... I'm still coming to check out your tank and fix those damn nitrates

Hey tanks Steve ;) I'm not sure on the ID of the monti???

I am almost finished with my plumbing. I went to 2 different Lowes and 3 different Home Depots today and I found almost all the parts that I need
I still need a 1 1/2" bulkhead though for my skimmer return line and i have to make a Durso pipe. I also got the streams today...I gave myself a blood blister with the magnet holders (those things are STRONG!)
Anyway, I'll post some pics in a little while
