Just got off the phone with Petsmart rep. No need for receipt since it's considered a recall. Just bring it in and they should issue a refund. Of course, you should probably say you did buy the product from them if you want the refund.

They should do the same thing with the fluval heaters...mine cracked in my tank, luckily I was right beside it when it happen. It also only has a 2 year warrenty. It is very fragile too.

I think the aqueon heaters are the best. They are super durable, and have a LIFETIME warrenty, unlike the cheap fluval.

I'm gonna call tomorrow about the other heaters, I know Aquascaper has a 75 in her tanks, I would go with Jeager myself.

Thanks for the info aquascaper.

I just pulled two of these out of my 125 gallon tank last Thursday. One stopped working and was tripping the circuit. Too bad I threw them out. Still have one in my turtle tank that I have to replace. Guess I will return that one.

yup your rite. time to make a trip to the store. I have 2 they are only 3mos old. Ill see if I have a problems since I didnt buy them from the store to start off with
