You're going to have to convince them to come help out of the goodness of their reefer hearts...no beer or booze allowed on these campuses we are lucky enough to get for our swaps

Kris, you forgot to state the swap volunteer equation:

Vendors arrive with heavy stuff in need of carrying + MR volunteers happily help them= said vendor remembers said MR volunteer the following day when frags need purchasing.

The corollary equation is MR volunteer once done schleping gets first view of vendor offerings and thus knows where to immediately go the next morning to purchase.
