I read that the Maxspect LED's have only a 3yr useful life on the bulbs they use. The theory behind that is the LED technology is constantly improving so you can swap out the boards for newer technology therefor the cheaper prices.

A few of us have ordered g2 110w as well and should be getting them in this week. They don't have all the features as the higher end fixtures, but they also don't cost the same. Plus the fact that the G2 models you can easily swap out the LED makes expanding later on easier. And like you said, for the price it's great.

I am thinking of getting the G2-110 myself. There's a group buy being arranged by a southern CA club (deadline March 22). I PM'ed the group buy organizer (see following thread) and they said it is open to anybody.

Link to group-buy prices, which they didn't list in the RC thread:

Note that these prices *include* shipping, whereas the fish-street shipping price is ~$150 when I checked.

I wonder how many people it would take to organize a group buy for ourselves. Maybe we could wait and see what members like emps have to say about their fixtures, then organize something for ourselves.

We did a separate mini group buy (3 fixtures) for them. It was for 2 g2110w and one 60w nano.

Hmmmmm Interesting. Nice price, possibly upgrade easily, and they give a great LED to MH comparison like everyone else should.
