Total Aquariums (Lynbrook), Pet's Warehouse (Commack), as far as lfs that I have gone to, and will continue to go to.
Aqua Hut (Coram)

Country Critters haven't been to in over 7 years (way expensive), and not very friendly or helpfull.
Aquarium Adventures rediculous prices. Was there today on account they sent me a 50% everything coupon.LOL What a joke. Sure I want to pay $200+ for a 4" Sohal tang after 50%, original price $429, or a Yellow Watchmen goby original price $49, oh excuse me it was a "GOLD Watchman Goby". But the scary part was that the store was actually very busy.....
Well, thank God for our vendors, and even better yet our members here.:) All my best purchases have been from the members here.;)

Take a trip to Manhattan Aquariums for sure! Kids will love it and the staff are super friendly and know alot!

x2!!

i love that shop. i stop by with my daughter just to watch the tanks and the stingray/shark pond!!

the prices are pretty good, and there is a MR discount.

i have to say their fish collection has gotten veryyyyy wideeee as of late.

For anyone with a nano, they have some tank raised PJ Cardinals that are thumb nail sized. Perfect for a small set-up.

They also just added a lotttt of freshwater fish and now have a hugeee planted freshwater display tank (if you want to still call it a tank)<~ you'll see what i mean when you visit.

Javier, you too? LMFAO

I really feel bad for all those people that go there, and don't realize that fish, corals, and inverts are really NOT as expensive as this store makes them out to be.:arg:

Unfortunately they also keep alot of people away from the hobby! I know that if that was the only lfs I ever had gone to, I never would have gotten into the hobby.:sigh:

+1.

Also, make the short trip out to Tropical Island Aquarium on Route 231 (believe it's 51 off the LIE).

Definitely worth the 45 min (aprx) drive it will take you to get there. Really nice owner, and AMAZING stuff. I just bought a 5 headed purple, green, and white acan for $45. It's beautiful.

They have tons of acans, chalices, some sps frags, and lots of nice colonies as well.
(Not to mention a great freshwater section and good saltwater fish)
