It's that time of year again, the 2008 MR Donation Drive!
Manhattan Reefs was founded with the goal of being a free site for the community. We do not charge for access to any part of the website, we want people to be able to join us without having to pay for membership. Donations are completely optional and don't give you any additional features on the site except a cool icon next to all of your posts, and the good feeling of supporting this free community. Donations go towards site costs including servers, bandwidth, software, development services and event planning. We also use a portion of the money raised from donations and events to sponsor local reef aquariums, charities and youth programs. None of this happens without YOUR help.
This time we decided to make the donation drive a little more fun by giving away some amazing prizes for the people who support the site.
This is how it will work:
From August 1st to September 1st, for every $20 that you donate, you will have 1 entry into the prize raffle.
On September 2nd we will randomly draw 3 tickets. The prizes are as follows:
First Prize
1 Aquapod 24 Gallon Aquarium Kit w/ 150W 14,000 HQI - This is a SUPER setup for a nice nano reef for your desk at work!
Second Prize
1 Seachem Pinnacle Reverse Osmosis (RO) System - 35 GPD
Third Prize
1 Apple iPod Nano - 4GB
