Sorry but I have seen this happen too many times before. Whoever owned this place has already ruined his credit and filed BK so he walked away from all debt.......
So any money you pay a lawyer or whoever is throwing good money after bad.
Sad but true.

before he close the shop go to small claim court and file a complain and give the paper to the owner he might refund you money then go to court.if you wait to long and don't act on this you are going to take a lost sorry about that

Well I went there today and they are GONE completely. I called and they left the number for tenecor. Apparentl they are tring to do right for people YET even though you paid AFY you would still have to buy it from them. They do acrylic and the rep who I happened to good freinds with said they are gonna try to get into the place to see whats in there. But cant until the process is over. He said Tenecor if they find tank done w/ paperwork or enough glass they will try again TRY to get them out to AFY's customers. But no promises. He's gonna KIT with me and LMK right away what is going on. But as of now we are all S-O-L

crox if the company kept taking deposit's after filing for bankruptcy, would be hard to prove, i still say file with the cc that you never knew about it, do they have any signature's from you guys ?

Hey Dave I just received an e-mail from Tenecor because I requested a quote for a cube tank from aquariums for you, they said they will try to work out a discount with-in reason for people waiting for a tank from Aquariums for you. Out of business after 16 yrs. I just asked for a quote & hope they can give me a discount. I will take acrylic at a discount. I would have your friend call Tenecor, he might get a good deal from them.

This looks like a stall tactic designed to avoid charge backs (which really only work when the company is still earning money through the charges). I wouldn't hesitate to contact my credit card company. I can't imagine that Tenecor is going to give much of a discount.
I had the same thing happen.....with AFY(I spoke to the owner about 10 days ago also...he didnt say anything, what a scumbag!!)
I called my credit card company, and they covered me...I got the money back today...unless AFY disputes it, but they have no case anyway

While you may get money back from a bank you have to watch out for cost and fees that may show up on your credit report...
Most people get money back through insurance that we all pay into, that they hope to recoup through the bankruptcy claim filed by these companies...
