these are shots of a piece of acropora from my tank.
if you have never seen them, the bugs do not look like this, to the naked eye they are much smaller. sorry for the poor photos, this is under pc lights with a point and shoot. still you get the idea.
check your acropora, if you see any let us know and we will tell you how to kill them. if left unchecked very bad things will happen to your prized coral

If you are trading or buying arcropora please check to see if there are any bugs on it. having to treat for them is no fun. it's a good idea to treat any coral for bugs before they go in your tank, even if you do not see them. keeping them in a QT for a couple of weeks is good practice as well. there may be eggs that have not hatched, that could survive the interceptor dip. waiting to see what pops up on the coral is the best practice. a QT can be a cheap ten gallon tank with some power heads and enough light to keep the coral alive for the time it's in the tank.

Jim, the mail came, no pill yet.

I have some from Shaun, I'll use his portion tonight, then use what you sent me
for the next two treatments.

Josh, I've not found a dealer for the interceptor yet.

bonus, I now have a frag tank in my bedroom ;) I'll see how long it can stay.

That acro is totally infested. That must be like 100 redbugs on that single acro. Scary... Wondering how long did it take to get to that proportion in the redbug population:D..

kris the frags will be fine, so far there has been no damage, and the bugs are checking out tonight ;)

Tom, Steve noticed a few a couple of weeks ago on that same coral, it took about ten days from a few bugs to what you see. :(

They must be feeding the hell out of your acro.. When I had the bugs, they weren't reproducing that as fast as yours, but they started to spread to my other sps...

I dosed the interceptor at 6 pm, I was not sure it was working until I saw the bodies of all the mysis shrimp floating through the water :(
they were unlucky enough to be on the rocks the frags are attached to.
at least it's not the whole pod population in my tank.

yeah, it's kind of sad seeing that I'm a photographer and all, I'd probably have one by now if it was not for this hobby :arg:
