yeah the pump kind of scares me. I'm expecting to come home to firemen breaking down my door to stop the flood from my apt

do you know if they make extra strong RO tubing? I would get some if they make it.

what is the optimum pressure it should be at?

mine comes out pretty slow lately (maybe 2 gallons/hour). but i never really care because I am not running out of water.

save your money, $85.00 on ebay from h20 science bryan crenshaw is the guy who helped dean and I, give him a call and tell him jonathan hale refered you, he might remember me. he'll set you up with only the stuff you need and he'll talk you through the set up if you need help.
it is the same thing, as far as I know aquatec is the only company that makes these units, I bet spectra pure buys them by the case and sticks their logo on them. they do that with everything else

.aquatec 8800

i dont do eBay, dont even have an account.
it is complicated to set-up? it looks like you just put the water in one side, out the other and plug it in. is there more to it?

albert, one thing about the pump is that it really is quiet, i did not believe the claims the description made "whisper quiet" but it is. in the sink cabinet you can't hear it running. I wish all pumps could be this quiet.

mine is in the laundry room going into a big brute garbage can. so i really wouldnt care if it sounded like a jet engine. i just fill up 5 gallon water jugs from the garbage/reservoir and either pour it into a bucket to mix with salt for a water change or the water-cooler in the kitchen.

WILL SOMEONE TELL ME HOW YOU ALL GOT THAT

it's supposed to come today, though I'm probably going to miss ups.

it will be interesting to see what happens with both the permeate and booster working.

how has your combination worked shaun? you said you run the booster manually, does the permeate work well by itself?
Jonathan, I just saw this post, so sorry for the delay.

The combination works great!!! The booster manually is because of its need for electricity. The permeate pump works by the pressure across the RO membrane, so it will always work if water is flowing through the RO/DI unit.

I could imaging not having both pumps, since I also save on water waste since the permeate pump limits the amount of waste water, and booster increases water pressure across the RO membrane.

sorry I could not remember what thread you asked that in
everyone who donated will have one, but I think josh has to go through and apply them individually, it's taking some time. you can pm him and say I want my donor button. we are also waiting for the blue variation to be made, I'm not sure where the orange came from, so maybe he's waiting to get the correct ones from the artist before he posts them all. do not worry you will not be forgotten. :)
