FINALLY, I have an aquarium again!
Everyone knows that I haven't had a tank set up in about 2 years, I've been getting really tired of hearing "when are you going to get a tank?"
I'm still working on my 120g, but in the mean time I broke down and bought a nano to keep me occupied until it is ready to go.
Here is a log of my new tank....
The tank before I set it up. I am probably going to have jhale make me a nice stand and hood, but for now this will have to do....
A top down shot, I know everyone wants to see this. I did a good job of concealing the plumbing and electrical work, you can't see anything. I am going to eventually retrofit a 175w MH pendant if I can figure out how to keep it from igniting.
I know what everyone says, you have to have patience, blah blah blah. I have no time for cycling, the nitrogen cycle, or a grace period for equipment failures and leaks. I picked up some nice livestock to drop in the tank once I got home. My LFS didn't mention anything about orcas or dolphins being difficult to keep, so I guess they will be alright...
The worker at the store had no idea what this fish was so he gave me a discount. When I got him home I took a look at him out of the tank and knew immediately that he was a "FISH".
I didn't want to stress them out so I acclimated them all over about 30 minutes.
And finally, here is the Full Tank Shot. After everything settles in I will think about adding some SPS and possibly putting a calcium reactor in.
Wish me luck and stay tuned for the next update!
